Feeling Like My Old Self

It is crazy how you can lose your self so quickly when you get caught up in different things. I seriously have been feeling just really bummed out lately. I really could not put my finger on it but I have just felt sad. I would not say depressed at all but I just was not my happy self. The beginning of October brought out the old me for a bit because I just love this month so much. I did feel good for a few days and then I was backed to being really bummed out.

Then this Saturday, I decided to paint my nails. I use to paint my nails all of the time about a year ago. About every week, I would take off the old polish and put a new one on. Then I just stopped. One big reason was me just being really busy with school. And school really has been keeping me really busy.

So now I have painted nails and I just feel so much better. It is crazy to me that doing something so simple can make me feel so much better. I am not complaining because it is a very nice feeling.

Happy October

Awwww. I just love October so much. There are just so many great things about it. There is Halloween, fall really starts to kick in, and it does not help that my birthday is in this month.

But seriously, I love October. I wish that October was longer than 31 days. I love the weather and just the feel of it. Speaking of weather, it is actually not 100*+ outside today and I just love it.

In other news, I had a very weird dream the other day. Now, in the last couple of months, I have been having a lot of dreams involving YouTubers. Well, this dream was no exception.

In the dream, I was hanging out with a bunch of friends. In this group of friends was Anthony and Ian from Smosh. They were younger and it seems that I was friends with them for a really long time.

For some reason, Anthony and I seemed to never really like each other. We were friends because we had the same good friends. We got along but we were not each other's favorite people ever. So some how I got dared to kiss Anthony naturally. I say I will do it and kiss him on the check. And is that good enough for everyone else? Nope, of course not.

So then I realize that I have to do it. I have to suck it up and kiss him. I go to kiss him and he actually kisses me back. Then there is like this spark that you always see in movies. We both feel and know that there is something there between us. We also realize that we can't let the others in on this so we make the kiss as short as possible.

I know, it is such a very strange dream. I have no idea where it came from but then again, you can't always control your dreams. It is kind of nice knowing it won't happen because I have never even met Ian and Anthony nor do I live in LA. So that is good I guess.

Umbridge-Like?

I love my university. I love my major. My professors are awesome. But now I have met one that just rubs me the wrong way. She really reminds me of Umbridge. So should we call here that? Yeah I think so.

Umbridge is new to my university. It took her about 3 weeks to find out that education majors are a cohort that have all their classes together since it is a small major. She does not know our names even thought it has almost been two months since we started classes.

My class went to our advisor to complain about here cause all she does is waste our time talking about things that have nothing to do with special education. Well, when she found out, it was not pretty.

She pretty much just flipped out on us telling us how rude we were. All she does it belittle us and on Tuesday she basically called us stupid. She said that we get spoon fead in all our other class and given cheat sheets and that is how we pass. I just could not believe it because it is just not true.

I don't know why she expects us to memorize about 50 acronyms for each class. It is just impossible. Just because we do not know everything about special education does not make us stupid. I really wish that I could drop the class but I have to have it for my major. Knowing I have to go every Tuesday and Thursday just makes my stomach want to do twists and turns.

So anyone have any advice? I would appreciate.

Christina

Hey Guys

I know that it has been a really, really long time. I just feel like I never have anything interesting to say. Also, I have been busy between working, moving back home, and starting my senior year in university has left me with very little free time.

I recently started a 2nd vlog channel where I am doing kind of life changing series you could say. One of my friends told me that losing weight and getting into shape is not something you just do to do it. This is a change of life and that is really how I see it. So that has been happening.

So far it has been going very well. I try and make it to the gym every other day and I have started really watching what I eat. Some times I do indulge but those are the days I really push myself in the gym. I assure you that I am doing this very healthy cause I know what I am doing this time. I must say it is a nice feeling to put on your jeans and you can see how much losser they fit.

Harry Potter

Last night, at midnight, I was in the cinema watching the final Harry Potter movie. I just do not even know what to say. It was amazing. It was not perfect because no Harry Potter movie will ever be perfect compared to the books. But after they got back to Hogwarts, everything just went great.

I think the best part of the movie truly was just being with a bunch of Harry Potter fans. There is nothing like a theater full of people cheering for Ron and Hermione kissing, Molly called Bellatrix a bitch and killing her, and Neville being a BAMF and de-heading Nagini.

But now here I am about 12 hours after leaving the cinema and I still want to cry. The last 11 years of my life have been amazing and I love Harry Potter so much. I know that I am never going to stop caring about that little boy wizard who lives under the stair of Number 4 Privet Drive. There is always going to be some emotions there.

I guess all I can do is just take all the lessons and memories form the last 11 years of my life and keep going. I know that this series has helped me learn things about myself and I am so thankful for that.

I'm Back!!

Hey guys. I bet you think that I forgot about my blog but I have not. I know that no one wants to hear excuses but I had finals and then I left the country. And when I was out of the country, I had very little access to the internet so doing anything online was very hard to do.

I had such a blast while in Europe. I went to Paris and London and pretty much did all the big touristy things that people do. I had a blast and I cannot wait to go back again if I ever get the chance.

The thing that sucks is now that I am back, I have to jump right back into things and I am working really hard again this summer. Hopefully it will pay off and I can have a great summer.

We Have Reached the End Once Again

Here we are. The very last day of BEDA. I know, it is sad. But I have faith that we can get through this.

Today is a very low key day for me like every Saturday really. That is mainly because I work all day. Normally, it is not that bad but today we are getting lots of calls because there are a lot of events going on at campus.

Tonight, I am planning on going home so that I can watch the new Doctor Who. It is really sad that my school's cable company does not have BBC America. Oh well, it is a good thing I have it at home.

Speaking of Doctor Who, I have only seen a few episodes in full so I am trying to change that. There is nothing like still having access to your ex-boyfriend's netflix account. So I am a couple episodes into the first season.

Today is a very nerve wrecking day. I have a lot riding on something that I find out at 5 this afternoon. So keep your fingers crossed for that.

I really feel like joining my roommate and friend watch Oliver and Company and so I am going to do that now.

School

I am normally pretty good about school. I get all my assignments done and I try to start them as soon as possible so that I can get them done. I am really good about this on the weekend. I make sure I get my homework done by Thursday night. I only have one class on Friday so I can quickly finish up any assignment I have in there and it usually is only reading.

I do all this so that I can have my weekends free to relax and just enjoy the days. I find it so funny that on Sunday night everyone is freaking out trying to get everything done and then they ask me how I can just watch TV. I tell them that I got everything done already. They usually don't believe me or call me an overachiever. I fell like it is just good planning.

The whole point of this is that it is the end of the semester. I only have one week of school after this one and then four finals. I have been finding it really hard to get anything done. I am just so ready for it to be summer. Especially since it has been so nice outside lately. All I want to do is sit outside. Oh well.

Is It All Worth It?

A week ago Kayley posted a blog talking about how she does not like BEDA/VEDA and NaNoWriMo. She said that she does not like the pressure to just put something out there because you have to instead of something you worked hard on and are proud of.

I must say that I agree. At first when I read it, I did not agree but then I looked back at this month and see all the crap blog posts I put out there because I had no idea what to write or I did not want to write.

Then there is this whole Open Letter to YouTube thing going on. It has people all a buzz that YouTube is not the same anymore. I have been on YouTube a little under 2 years so I really do not know what it was like before hand. This has people on two separate sides. Some are calling for a change to the old ways and other people saying that it is stupid to want it to change back.

I may not know what it was like back in the day but it must not have been a place where someone attacks you in the comments for stating your opinion that you agree with the person who made the video. So my opinion does not match yours. That does not mean you have to attack me. More importantly, why are you picking the fight with me if I am AGREEING with the video maker. Should it not be brought up to that person instead?

Maybe I am just thinking too much into this. Maybe it has to do with me feeling so depressed right now.* I really do not know.

So Much Homework

It seems that I always have really good blog ideas but then when I sit down to actually write my blog, I forget them. Oh #whitegirlproblems.

This week is going to be so crazy for me. In terms of school, I have class all this week and next week. The week after that I have my final exams. Because of this, I have so many projects due this week and next week. I always hate this part of the semester because all of my professor pile on all the homework like there is no tomorrow. Oh, well.

I really need to stop writing this blog post and get to writing one of my papers.

Doctor Who

I have never been a huge fan of the show. I would not say that I am a part of the big fandom around it but I really do enjoy the show.

I hear about all the time from the internet and my own parents. My parents were fans of the show back in the day when it first came on. So it has been in the home since it came back on a few years ago.

The first episode I ever watched was Blink and I must say that it is terrifying. I will not spoil it for anyone who has not seen it.

I say all this cause the new season premiers tonight and BBC America is having a marathon right now and I am watching it.

Egg Hunt

So I said yesterday that I was waking up at 5:30 in order to hide Easter eggs around the residence halls for the residence to seek. And that is what I did. Let me tell you that I did not want to wake up that early even with me going to bed early. It was not fun at all.

We went to the campus apartments first and hid about 20 or 30 eggs there. The best part was that we were all still really tired and out of it so we were acting really goofy.

We headed back to the residence hall to hide the rest of them. We were completely shocked to find so many people still awake at 6 in the morning. I have no idea how they could possibly stay up that late. I mean it is about 8:50 now and I am ready to go to sleep.

I had a lot of fun hiding the eggs. Once we were done I went back to sleep where I dreamt about hiding eggs. When I woke up for real, I heard that one resident was disappointed on how we hide the eggs. He went around collecting all the eggs and hiding them again. It made me feel like I wasted all my time this morning hiding the eggs. The whole point was to put them in easy places to find so that they could be found. Oh well, I guess some people will never grow up.

Such A Big Number

This is my 100th blog post. That is some pretty exciting stuff.

I really do not know what to blog about. My brain is just not functioning right now because of the lack of sleep that I have been running off of. My main problem is I am staying up later than I normally do and still getting up at the same time. I just feel so tired.

Tomorrow I have to get up at 5:30 to go and hide Easter eggs through out the residence hall. So that will be fun. And because of that, I hope that I can go to sleep soon.

Baseball

I am going to the Astros game again tonight. I am so excited. The reason I am going is not a happy one. Right now because they are doing so bad, they have lowered the prices of the tickets so my dad could not pass up cheap tickets so we are going.

So the thing that I had this morning went ok. I am not getting my homes but everyone else thinks it will turn out alright. I guess I will find out in two weeks when we find out. And you guys will find out not long after that.

I find it so funny when people complain to me how someone did not invite them to something when they are like 'I thought we were friends,' when they do that same thing to me all of the time. And because I am so nice all I can say is, 'Yeah that suck.' I really do not think I should have to say anything but I feel that this friend often does not invite me to go with her and other people. So I really do not feel sorry for her at all. Does that make me a bad person?

Guys, today is such a happy day. Today Deathly Hallows Part 1 came out in the US. You have no idea how excited I was for this. It is a shame that I had to wait till 3 to go and get it. But it was so worth it. As soon as my friend and I returned from Target, we went straight to the media room to start watching it.

We had a blast. I really wish that it was July already. I am tempted to start watching it again.

How Do They Do It?

I am so tired. It really is my fault since I stayed up so late. Normally it would not be a problem except for the fact that I had to wake up at 7 AM to go to an elementary school to observe.

Part of my major is having 50 observation hours in order to graduate. So they brake it up to 17 hours for three semester. Which mean that I spend a lot of time in the classroom each semester. And you could say that I was a bit behind on my hours.

So I had to suck it up and be there at 8 AM to observe for 5 1/2 hours. The craziest thing is that they were already in class for 20 minutes.

I just do not realize how teachers do it. I guess that I will have to find out pretty soon once I start student teaching and then teaching for real.

Our World Today

Sometimes, it amazes me how much our world today depends on technology. I am not saying that this is a bad thing at all. I love all my technology so much.

I say this because one of my classes does not allow us to bring our laptops to class. This means that I have to write by notes by hand. I think this is what has caused my wrist problem. I never went to the doctor but I am pretty sure that is what caused it.

I feel that if I had not gotten so used to always using my laptop I would not have the problem. I just feel like I rely on it too much. But I am not really sure, so what is your opinion?

Let's Talk About Weather Baby

So I know that yesterday I talked about the weather but today is so freaking gorgeous outside. There is not a cloud in the sky. There is a nice breeze. Basically, I just want to lay outside and breathe in the beauty.

Too bad that I am in class right now (I know, bad Christina) learning about how to do science experiments with eggs. You want to know why eggs? Because Easter is coming up soon. I know, I have some really cool classes here.

So I know that I asked what everyone thought of the YouTube live feature.Sue said that she liked it but did not like the way the comments work. I have to say I agree. The comments move too fast and I feel like it would cause the people giving the show to not read them. It also seems to not work too well if too many people are commenting. I think that is something that they really need to work it. But other than that, I think that this works out well.

Crazy Weather

I bet a lot of you guys do not know this but a lot of people here like to call Texas the bi-polar weather state. Well, at least we do in Houston.

This morning, it poured for a good 30 minutes. I when I mean it poured, I mean it was coming down by the gallons. And it was coming down sideways. It was not fun at all.

Then right after that, it was bright and sunny. It is also super hot. It does not help that the humidity is probably like 99% now. Oh joy. Of course that now means that my hair has expanded to great volume. Oh, how I love thick hair.

Zoo Time

I had a blast going to the zoo today. I have all my education classes with the same 11 people. So, we have gotten really close and have so much fun together. We convinced our science professor to go to the zoo instead of having class.

We went right to the red pandas and they were so cute. The best part was they were running around instead of sleeping. We then went into this little house to see some fish, bats, and naked mole rats. There was this tunnel that went through one of the fish tanks that people could crawl through. About 5 of my friends got in there and had a blast.

We then saw the elephants and there was two babies. They were adorable. It was so cute to see them playing with each other. The funniest part was when the little was being sat on, he made this loud noise and the three big elephants came and pulled him off.

We then went to see the big cats and bears. They were being so lazy and sleeping and not doing anything fun at all.

They just opened up this new part of the zoo called Africa Forest. It was so much fun. They had this "little village" at the front. Next up is the chimps. The fun part was the giraffes. The best part was they have this part where you pay $5 and you get to feed the giraffes. I must say that was the best $5 I have every spent. I had a blast.

The last animal they had in the African Forest were the rhinos. It was so nice to get to see them since they have only been here for about 2 months.

We then came about a carousel so we just had to ride that. Pretty much the best way to end our zoo trip.

Questions

Ok, so I asked twitter for questions and I got a few.

What's your favorite vacation?
Probably any of the 3 times that I have been to Disney world with my family. It was a blast and I loved every minute of it. I only wish that I had spend more time there just because there is so much to do and you cannot fit it all in a week.

If I could pick any dream vacation, what would I choose?
I have always wanted to go to Europe so that would have to be that. I want to be able to just travel across Europe for a while. I think that it would be so much fun. I guess it is a good thing I am going this summer.

Favorite John Green book?
Paper Towns. I just love this book so much. It is brilliant. The best part is my copy is signed by him.

Favorite Hank Green Song?
According to my iTunes, it is This Isn't Hogwarts and I Know. But I really think that Accio Deathly Hallows.

Guilt Free 3?
Alan Rickman, Rupert Grint, and Orlando Bloom. No judging

Life Goals?
1. Graduate 2. Get a job 3. Get married and have a family. 4. Vlog in public. 5. Go skydiving.

Why is Sue so awesome?
Well, not so sure about that one. Just kidding. Cause she is one of the most hardcore nerdfighters that I know. So by default she is made of pure awesome.

Am I excited for City of Fallen Angels?
Heck yes I am. If you guys don't know what that it is, it is the fourth book in the Moral Instrument series by Cassandra Clare. The first three books were so amazing so I cannot wait to read this one.

That is all the questions that I got.

My Wrist: A Complicated Love Story

So it just came to my attention that I still need to blog today. So here we gooooo.

First I want to say that tomorrow I want to answer some questions so hopefully people will actually ask some and I will have something to write about.

What I really want to talk about is my wrist. Exactly a week ago, my wrist started to hurt in the middle of the afternoon. I though it was no big deal because that will happen every once in a while. But the next day, my whole arm started to hurt. That was pretty weird because that usually does not happen at all. I maned through the pain though.

Well, my wrist stopped hurting so I forgot about it. That is until this afternoon. I noticed that my wrist started hurting again. But this time it is worse. It now hurts for me to hold something. I get this real sharp pain in my wrist but then it goes away. It only happens when I hold something. I can ball my fist and it does not hurt. So strange, I know.

I called my mom to get her opinion of the matter and she wants me to call the doctor tomorrow and make an appointment. She thinks that something is wrong even though it is not swollen or discolored. We will just have to wait and see what tomorrow brings.

Christina

Lazy Sunday? Maybe

I know that I said thatI was going to have a lazy Sunday relaxing and I did but I did end up having plans.

About 12:30, I got a text from my mom asking if I wanted to come see Hop with the family. I really had been wanting to see the movie so I said yes. About 30 minutes later, my dad called and asked if I wanted to come home first and then go together or meet them there. My dad really just wanted me to see the new 54" TV. So I said yes.

Of course, I wanted see the TV so I went home. I must say that the TV is very impressive. Very nice to see the Astros lose in HD.

As for the movie, it was really cute and I enjoyed it but it was not amazing. It is a good kid movie but probably never going to see it again.

So it was still a pretty lazy day but I had a lot of fun.

The Concert

So yesterday, the residence life department put on this concert on campus featuring 5 local bands. It was so crazy busy. I am the president of the residence council. That is where we talk about different issues that the residences are facing or something that they want to see happen. We then try our best to get what they want.

The reason for telling you this is that we were selling the food for the concert. We were expecting about 500 people to come so we were freaking out that we would not have enough food and that we would not have enough people to work. We got there at 1:30 to set up.

The gates opened up at 3 and there was a few people that came. So it seemed that it would not be that bad. The concert then started at 4 and more people came in. Well, it turns out that we only had a few more than 200 people showed up. So we ended up have over 100 cooked hot dogs that no one ate. It seems that our worries were for nothing.

We can now say that I am way too tired after this weekend and I am glad for this lazy Sunday so I can finally just rest after two non-stop days.

Formal

It was a blast.

Last year when I went, it was just ok. The problem I had was that the space was just too small. There was no where to sit, the dance floor was tiny, there was very, very, very little food, and you had to pay for all your drinks including water. The place we had it at was cool but it was about the only good thing about it.

This year was so much fun. The venue was beautiful because it is one of those places where people get married. The dance floor was crowded but I still had a blast. There was so much food and it was all good. There were tons of places to sit. Overall, it was a much better experience.

Let's Get It Start In Here

Hello everyone. How are you doing? I know that it has been so long. I really did mean to keep up with this but I just keep putting it off. I would tell myself that I would just blog later.

So have something to tell you. I have stopped drinking sodas and coffee. I know that I did this back in September but that was different. That was something I knew was temporary and I went right back to drinking soda in October. This is different. I am doing this for me istead. And as of today, it has been 4 weeks since I last had a soda and I feel great. I really feel that I have much more engery. I have also been drinking like 10 glasses of water a day now, so that may have something to do with it.

Tonight is my university's formal so there will be more on that tomorrow. My university's res life is also hosting this big concert tomorrow that I am helping at. So this weekend is kind of busy for me. I know, it is the perfect way to kick off BEDA.

So I will have an exciting blog post up soon but it may be Sunday before that happens.

I Am One Year Old

Things have been pretty crazy for me lately. I got sick last week. That was no fun at all. I just sleep for like half the day.

Then I was able to move back into my residence hall early since I am working in the office. So that has been. I must say it is kind of nice to be here when only the RAs are here. I also find it really funny that a lot of people think that I am an RA when I am not. But that really doesn't matter.

So it seems that I missed my blog's anniversary. When I made this blog a little over a year ago, I sent my cousin the link over skype. I had just made it and had only one blog post. She told me that she thought it was cute and wished me luck. She told me how she had had a blog a while ago but only kept it up for a few weeks then got bored of it and forgot all about it. She thought that it would be the same for me

I love that I am able to prove her wrong knowing that it has been over a year and I am still using this thing. Maybe not as often as I would like but I am still using it so that is pretty awesome.

Anna and the French Kiss

At the very end of last year, I read Anna and the French Kiss. I must say that I really did enjoy and found it hard to put it down. Though it was much easier to put down than The Hunger Games. It has a great story and a great guy to lust after.

But I did have a few problems with it. One of my big problems is how are all these kids just calling home all of the time on their cell phones. It is really expensive to be calling America all the time when you are in France. I would think that they had French phones to be able to use there but there is no way they are calling home everyday.

Another thing that bugged me was the words. And by that I mean the spacing. I do not know if this was because I was reading it on my Kindle or not but I found a lot of the words were pushed together with no space in between them. I would think that this would have been really easy to catch and fix but I guess not.

The last thing that I have a problem was Thanksgiving break. I can understand how they have it off because they go to an American school and Americans are the ones who celebrate Thanksgiving. My problem is the fact that Ellie has it off while going to univeristy in Paris. She should not have had it off becuase the French do not celebrate it. It makes no sense at all for her to have had it off.

Man do I feel better now that I have gotten that off my chest. It really is a good book and those are my grivances against it. I could be the only person that this bothers.

Tough Woman

Today has been so long. I really mean it. And then if this was a tweet I would tag that white girl problems.

It really was not that bad. I went to work where I really did not do that much. I just got really upset when I spilt my soda in my clean car and then I learned that I am probably losing my scholarship.

Here is the thing with the scholarship. I need to have a 3.0 in order to keep it. Last year I did not do so good in school. At the end of the spring semester I had below a 2.5. So then I was put on academic probation. I really did work this semester on school. I ended up doing pretty good. My GPA for the semester was over a 3.0 but my the one that matter was not. I missed it by about .2 points. I think that I really did a good job on bring it up that high.

I think that if I have another semester like that I would be able to pull it up to the 3.0 that I need.

Well I have the option to appeal this and so that is my best opinion for right now.

Ever Musing and Concert

I love my mom. I really do. She is great but sometimes, and by sometimes, I mean a lot, she just frustrates me. She has only been home for a few hours and has been complaining non-stop. It just makes me wonder how she ever enjoys herself when all she does is complain.

Tonight, my sister had a concert and it was ok. I think that they may have been good except for the fact that I could not hear them at all. They were all so quiet and not really together either. But it was very nice to see my old choirmaster.

And It Begins

Hello new year. It is so great to see you.

I hope that everyone had an excellent night last night. I know that I did even though there was some shaky parts to my night.

I was really excited because my extended family usually will get together on NYE and have a party. I really wanted it to be at my house since we just moved and no one had seen our house. For awhile my dad was against this idea because he wanted the house to be ready. Finally, as we unpacked our last box earlier this week he agreed. Everything wasn't perfect and we had pictures leaning against the wall waiting to be hung up but we were going to have the party at our house.

It was very last minute, so we rush to clean the house and buy food and everything else we needed for it. We hung up the dart board outside and went off to church.

We were pretty surprised to see a lot of our family there because they had said they were going to come to our house later. After church, I noticed that my Grandma was still seating and everyone was starting to gather around her. It turns out that her heart rate has risen and it was beating like crazy. No one wanted to take any chances so my uncle and aunt to her to the ER.

The rest of us went back to my house. We tried to carry on like nothing was wrong but we were all really nervous. My poor mom had no idea what is going on because her and my sister are in Florida for the Capital One Bowl. My sister was selected to perform at the half time show. We did not want to call her until we knew any thing.

Several hours later we find out that they had run some tests and they could not find anything wrong. Her heart rate had gone down but not to where it should be so they kept her over night just to keep an eye on it.

My uncle than came to our house and we continued on like normal knowing that she was going to be ok.

We had a great time doing what we usually do. Play video games, card games, and board games. We watched Dick Clark's Rocking New Year until 11 our time when it then switched over to Houston's NYE celebration. At midnight we ran outside screaming like the mad people we are.

Pretty much, I love how awesome my family is.

And if you are wondering, my Grandma is fine and they let her go home this afternoon.

Christina
