My IRL Friends

In my last blog, I said that this whole internet friends thing is new to me. I must say that having really good irl friends is also new to me. Now, I have always had friends. The thing is that I have never had really close friends that I will make an effort to see and talk to outside of school. I guess college really is an amazing place because it seems that I have found these people now.

Since it is summer, most of my friends are no longer hanging around campus like I am. I am still talking to my friends on a real regular basis. We have been texting each other a whole bunch and I have even been able to see a few people. This is usually how I stay in contact them. It is through texts, phone calls, and face to face interaction.

Yesterday my friends and I decided to try something else. We decided that we would have a skype date. The only problem was that no one knew that we could not do a video call with more than one person. We could only use the voice function. I decided that we should use tinychat. They had the hardest time trying to figure it out even though I told them how to use it. A few of them ended up having trouble the entire time.

It was so weird to me that my irl friends and I would interact through this way because this has really been only for my internet friends. They are the ones that I talk to through skype and tinychat. Maybe I am just being weird about it but I feel like this should only be for my internet friends. Though, my irl firends loved it and cannot wait to do it again.

Love ya,
Christina

Annoyances and Internet Friends

I feel as if I am Hayley G. Hoover right now but I am getting very annoyed.

Every summer, my dorm rents out the top two floors of the building to different conferences. They then hire three students each summer to be a conference assistant. They are the ones that get called when ever the conference needs something. This usually just includes being locked out of their room, or needing the kitchen, media room, conference room or chapel unlocked.

One of the big ones each summer is the Houston Ballet Academy (HBA). There is usually about 120 of them and they are here for about a month. The good majority of them are pre-teens so of course, they think that they rule the world and can do whatever they want. It just annoys me to no end that I have to deal with them and they are here for another two weeks. I am so tired of having to deal with their horrible attitudes.

I suppose I am just really waiting for school to start again. There my life gains a bit more structure with which I am grateful. It is not as if I never have anything to do now, it's just that my life is so random right now. I think things to be consistent for the most part. I do love those random moments that no one can predict. They pretty much make my life worthwhile but I like knowing what generally will happen in a day.

Growing up, people have always said to be careful about meeting people through the internet. I have always followed this and made sure not to put that much personal information out there. Since I have joined YouTube, this seems to have changed. I have meet some amazing people through this website and some people that I consider to be very close friends even thought I have never meet them in real life. It is amazing to think that I would have never met these people without this wonderful website. The even crazier thing is, that I would have never met these people if it was not for Harry Potter. It just goes to show you how wonderful Harry Potter truly is.

Organized

Normally, I am a very organized person. I always make my bed and put everything away. Lately, it seems that I am not doing this anymore. It is a very weird feeling for me. I did laundry yesterday but I have yet to put my clothes away. I feel like that I am not longer myself. I wish there was something I could do so that I can be me again.

In other news, my boss' daughter birthday was today. They had a little party for her today in the dorm. It was so much fun running around with three year olds. It makes me so happy to know that I am an education major. I cannot wait to teach.

It is currently raining outside and I love it.

Sometimes, it really surprises me how immature some people are. Some people just think that they can do whatever they want whenever they want. This would not be so bad that they puts it in front of their job. I guess it may have to do with just graduating from college but you are in the real world now. They need to realize that they cannot always go and do whatever they want. They need to realize that they have a job and responsibilities now. Life is not all about fun.

Candy Land

Is it weird that I have been a really blogging mood lately? I just feel like I really want to blog a lot more than I usually do. I cannot figure out if this is a good thing or not. I told my friend Rachel this yesterday and she informed that I am very strange and that is not normal. She than told me how she has two live journals. Well, I feel that I never have really been normal so I am going to take this as a really good thing.

Today, I got work at noon. My friend, Gen, who worked after me, asked me if I wanted any food. I told her I was going to Subway and I could pick something up for her. When I returned, we ate and sang. I then grew bored and decided to look through the games they have in the closet and I found Candy Land. I have not played this game since I was a little kid. We ended up playing a little less than 20 games. I am proud to say that I won.

Love ya and hopefully I will be back tomorrow,
Christina

The Internet

I must say that this is such a new feeling for me. I think it is so weird that my generation is suppose to be the one that knows everything about the computer and the internet. I honestly really didn't start using the computer until high school. Even then, it was mostly to write papers. I didn't even get my own computer until the day I moved into my dorm freshman year. Even then I used it mainly to write papers and get on Facebook. I really did not become obsessed until about October/November of last year. This is when I started to get into YouTube. When I know for sure that I was addicted was at the end of January.

I have never been the person to know about different memes and popular videos right away. I was usually the one to find out months later. This has recently been changing for me. I have been the one to see something before it goes viral. It is weird now to have those same friends come up to me about something and me being the one to say that I have already seen it.

I find it even more weird now that on YouTube, I have a pretty loyal following for the most part. When I first joined, I was lucky if I got 20 views in 2 months. Now I get way over 20 views within the first couple of hours of uploading. I never thought I would get big on YouTube and I am still not. I have been able to make some amazing friends through it and that is something else I thought would never happen.

I also have some friends who think if they are in my videos or I mention them that they are famous. I really don't understand that. I mean my videos are not watched by that many people well at least I think so. Even if I was "popular" on YouTube, there still would not be that many people who saw my videos. As obsessed as people get with YouTube, it is still just one website in a world filled with millions of them. There are many people in the world who could care less about it and I have been told by many friends that I am way too obsessed for my own good. As much as I love it, I really do not spend that much time there to be honest. In fact I believe my love for Twitter is far greater.

I guess I am just going to have accept all of this but it is still really hard for me to believe.

Love ya,
Christina

Good Feelings

I must say that I really am enjoying that I have been blogging and vlogging a lot more. It really is a lot of fun. In fact here is a day that I am blogging and I already made a vlog here.

Yesterday, I had a dentist appointment so I swung by my house for a little while. It was really nice to be home even if it was for 30 minutes because I had not been home since Memorial day.

I must also say that I really enjoy writing stories. I was struck with an idea this morning and have been writing it today whenever I get the chance. I must say that I love having my MacBook Pro because I do take it to a lot of places with me and I am able to write whenever I feel like it.

I am very excited because I found out today that I am going to be able to attent the Remus Lupins concert next week. I thought that I would not be able to make it because I am on call next week but I have been able to work it out so that I can go. I cannot wait for real.

The Show

I know, I am finally writing about the show. I would have written about right when we got back and it was fresh in my mind but Jennifer was driving me crazy. She would not leave me alone. I mean with every text I got, she had to know from who and what it said and what I would reply back. Every time I tweeted or update my Facebook status, she had to know what I was typing. It was very annoying to have someone hovering behind me the whole time.

I got back yesterday but I was way too tired to write anything and I took awhile to edit my video that is sort of about the concert.

In the hotel, I was talking to PJ and he told me that I needed to have an adventure and not just go to the concert. I was like ok but I was not sure how that would go.

We wanted to eat before the concert and there was a Denny's across the street so we we went there. I then realized that I left my ALL CAPS CD in my bag in the room. After we finished stuffing our faces, we went back across the street to the hotel to get my CD that I never ended up getting signed.

We headed out on the road to find the bar. Jennifer sucks at giving directions. When I printed the directions, I also printed a map. She decided instead of using the direction that tells us every thing we need, she would use the map and be like "the turn is before the curvy part of the road." Which of course it was not. We got lost twice. Once I took the directions from her and saw what we really need to be doing, I got us there with no problem.

We found the park but the only parking was meters that lasted for about 3 hours. So we drove down the street a bit to a lot that was $1.50 which I think was pretty good. We then, had to make the scary walk back to the bar.

Once we got in, Jennifer became way to nervous and was sacred to talk to everyone because there were not a lot of people. I kept telling her that this was the perfect time to because they would have the time to talk. After about 10 minutes, I was able to convince her and we went up to ALL CAPS. Luke came right out to talk to us and was super nice just like I told her he would be. We ended up buying a ton of merch because everything was amazing.

We then went to stand by the stage because she was worried that we would not get a good spot. We were right in the front and it was amazing. It was funny because for almost the whole night, there was a space of about 5 feet between those of us in the front and the rest of the crowd.

The Parselmouths went first. Eia looks so adorable with the ukulele because she is so tiny. The sounded amazing even though they switched parts because Kristina was not feeling that good.

Justin Finch-Fletchley was next. I must say that he was amazing. He gave one of the best performances of the night. Before he went on, I heard a girl behind me say that he usually breaks guitar strings every night and when he played, I could see why. He puts so much energy into his music. He was jumping around everywhere and strumming really hard. I am so glad that he was able to rejoin the tour because he made it amazing.

Lauren or the Moaning Myrtles was next. She is even more cute and adorable in person. She played some songs from her band and then a few songs that were not about Harry Potter. Half way through her set, she switched from guitar to ukelele. The problem was that the cord was not really working and you could barely here the ukelele. There also was another concert on the other side of the bar and during the middle of her ukelele solo, we start to hear this really loud music. The people then told them there is another stage with another band. She kept playing and was amazing.

Matt then joined her on stage to sing a few song from their band Armoured Bearcub. It was amazing and they were adorable. I love that they are a pretty new band and that I was able to sing along with them.

Lauren then left so that Matt could transform into the Whomping Willows. He set was also amazing. Yet again he was jumping around and went he shook his head, you could see all the sweat come off. He played the most songs out of everybody but they were all so amazing. He so cute like a big teddy bear.

ALL CAPS was next. Luke came on told everyone that we need to be loud so that we could interrupt the other band like they did to Lauren. I must say that they are amazing live. I had my doubts because Luke likes to use a lot of autotune as an affect to his songs but they were amazing. Everyone was jumping around and singing so loud. For their last song, a few guys that were at the other concert came over. At first it seemed like they were making fun of everyone but then it seemed that really got into it. After the last song, everyone started chanting one more song. They said that they would but that Kristina was not up to another song and that they would hang out with people instead and so they ran off stage.

Jennifer and I then went to go and but more stuff and take pictures with everyone. We ended up buying a ROFLCOPTOUR poster which we got signed by everyone. I even got Lauren to sign my shoe. I was wearing my black converse. I think it so funny because I almost wore my purple ones and Lauren was wearing her purple converse so that would have made it much better.

We then left to walk back in the dark to my car. It really was an amazing time. I am sorry that this is so long but there was so much to tell. If you made it to this point, I hope you enjoyed because it took me a little less than an hour to write this.

Made It

I have made to Dallas successfully. I have already recorded a few things to hopefully make a vlog later about everything. Right now Jennifer and I are just chilling in our hotel room until later. PJ did tell us that we need to go out and have some fun before the concert and that he wants to hear some stories. I do not know what we will do but hopefully find something really fun to do.

More later I promise. I also am so freaking excited for tonight that I cannot wait.

I am so excited because I am going to Dallas tomorrow to go to ROFLCOPTOUR. I cannot wait. I have been looking forward to this since they first announced it. I am a little nervous about it but mostly excited. I have been getting ready for it all day.

I know this is short and I promise to blog about it sometime this next week.

Happy 4th!!

I live in America and today is the 4th of July. That means that Americans stuff their faces with hamburgers and hot dogs and shoot off fireworks to celebrate our Founding Fathers signed the Declaration of Independence.

Usually, I shoot off fireworks with my family because we live outside Houston city limits but for the 2nd year in a row, I am at school which is in the city limits. It makes me sad that I am not with my family again. Luckily for me, one of the groups on campus has a bb q on the roof of the parking garage. Then we have a perfect view of the fireworks that the shoot off downtown.

I also made a video about the new Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows trailer. You can view it here if anyone wants.

Christina
