The Friday Five

1. Hello guys! Can you believe that it has been a week already? It feels like it has been a long, busy week. Then again, almost every week feels that way. I am just glad for the weekend and it's a long one. I am so glad I have Monday off. The only down side is that I don't have another day off until Spring Break in the middle of March. It is going to be a long February.

2. I am so tired of this cold weather. I know that it made not be that cold to some people but to a girl raised in the south, it is very cold. I'm dreaming of the warmer spring that is coming. Although I will admit that when July and August come around I will want the colder weather come along. I like a nice middle ground in terms of weather.

3. The weekend I spent some times with my cousins and their dog. She is so cute and fun. I really want a dog but I would feel so bad for it. During the school year I would be gone all day and the dog would be in my apartment all alone all day. Having a dog during the summer would be great. I'm actually thinking about getting one this summer and house breaking them so they will be fine for when I go back to work. Well that is just the plan right now.

4. Do you know how hard it is to do this on my iPad? I thought it wouldn't be but I am having so many problems. I guess next week it's back to the good old MacBook instead.

5. This is kind of difficult to think of five things to write about. I know it shouldn't be because it has been a whole week and I have done a lot. Better luck next week I guess.

Friday Five

1. So I absolutely adore Sarah Dessen. I love her books, her tweets, and especially her books. She seems so nice and down to earth. For awhile I had no idea how much I liked her. I had purchased some of her books and loved them but it took me a few years to actually look at who the author was and put two and two together and see it was the same person. I even met her almost 2 years ago when she went on tour for WHAT HAPPENED TO GOODBYE. Here is a picture to prove it.

Anyways, she writes in her blog just about every Friday called the Friday Five where she talks about five different things. I like the idea because I really need to get back into the habit of writing again. So here we go as I will try to follow in her footsteps.

2. School has started up again and we hit the ground running. We do not have a lot of time left until it is time for state testing. I have an interesting class to say the least but I do have to say that they are improving and the other teachers have said the same thing. It makes me feel pretty good knowing that I am doing something correct. Hopefully we can get completely ready for the tests coming up.

3. My parents celebrated their 25th anniversary on Wednesday. I love how in love my parents are still even after all of these years. We had a nice to go out with them and my sister downtown of Wednesday to the restaurant that parents got engaged in all of those years ago. Hopefully they will be able to make it another 25 years.

4. Going back to number 2 because this is how my mind works now. I am pretty tired. You would think I would be use to getting up early after teaching all last semester but the break killed me. Having two weeks off was so nice but now it is kicking my butt. I got so used to staying up late and sleeping in late so now it is hard for me to fall asleep when I need to and I am still so sleepy when I have to wake up in the morning. Now, I have always been a morning person and I do like the get up early because I like to get to work early. I am really hoping I can get back into the habit of good sleeping before spring break comes to ruin it all over again.

5. This was kind of hard to come up with 5 things to blog about this week. I hope it will not always be this hard every week. I am blaming being sleep deprived. In other news, I going for some more caffeine. Have a great weekend anyone reading this!!

As Life Moves On

It really has now. I pretty much went from having nothing to do all summer, to being very busy. The main reason for that is I am now employed. I know, very exciting. I am going to be teaching 4th grade. I am pretty excited and nervous at the same time. I am really just nervous for the first day. I feel like, after that I will be fine. I hope so anyways.

Another thing keeping me so busy is that I have moved into my first apartment. I am loving it so far but it still has not fully hit me that I have completely moved out of my parents' house. I feel like I am still in college and this is just something temporary. I am sure that feeling will go away soon. Or at least I hope so.

In all the moving, I have been lacking in Internet things. So please tell me what I have missed. I am hoping to kind of get caught up soon because I have almost finished unpacking everything. I only have three boxes left to unpack. I really just want to be done with it all already. Moving has to be one of the most stressful thing out there. I really want to be completely settled before Monday because that is when I first have to report for my job for a week of inservice. I don't think is the case for most places because I think it is just a Texas things that all public schools cannot start before the 4th Monday of August. I don't really understand that. It was supposedly resorts complaining they were losing money because people had to get home at the beginning of August since school was starting. The only thing is now schools go past Memorial Day and into June. You would think they would want that business more than August. Oh well.

I really need to eat now and get back to unpacking. I am having dinner tonight with some college friends and I think they might want to come over afterwards and see my new apartment so I am hoping to get it more presentable by then. Back to work.

Love ya,
Christina

Summer Vacation

Hello. How are you doing? I am doing great. In fact today is amazing because I am not officially licensed to teach in the state of Texas. It is very nice to know something that I have worked so hard for is finally happening. The only problem is that I still need to go and find a job. I have applied to 13 different school districts but I have yet to hear back from anyone. It is getting a little annoying but I keep trying and hoping that someone will eventually hire me.

Other than that, my life has been pretty boring this summer with no job. I am ready to move out of my parents house my I can't do that now because I have no money. I am thinking that I will start to make some more YouTube videos so because I have so much free time. I also have some good vlog ideas so we shall see if they ever get made.

I know I am very late on this one but I finally got an iPhone. I was so excited when I got it because I have wanted to have one for some time now. The big problem for me for a while was the fact that only AT&T had them. Then of course, Verizon gets them literally 2 months after I got my Blackberry and I was stuck in that contract for two years. It really is nice to have it because it really makes my life so much easier. I am pretty obsessed with it. I mean, I feel like I get separation anxiety with it when someone is holding it for too long. That could just be because I am crazy.

I did also graduated from university. I feel like I should say that. I really is weird to me that I will not start classes again this August. Well, hopefully I will be teaching them. I did alright in college. It was not amazing but I did do very well in my major classes. My major GPA was much better than my overall GPA but I guess that is how it is for everyone right?

After graduation, my family loaded up the car and we set out for Disney World for about 2 weeks. This was our 4th time going so we were no amateurs about going. I had so much fun. I just love being there and I kind of wish I was back there right now. The real exciting part for me was going to Islands of Adventure in Universal. I went once about 5 years ago before they build the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I mean we got there about an hour and a half before the park opened, ran there, and still waited about 20 minutes or so to ride Forbidden Journey which was amazing. I had so much fun and the Butterbeer was delicious. If you love Harry Potter as much as I do, you really need to try and go. By next hopeful Harry Potter trip will be going back to England to tour the studios. We will see on that one and if I have enough money for it.

This was quite the blog post. I guess I have a lot to say when I don't blog for about two months. I know I have been bad and I am trying to get better at it.

The End

Here we are. The end of the month. I am so very glad that we are finally here. I really do not even know what to say.

I am glad to be finishing up university soon. I just have 11 days left. I am not sure what to do besides to apply for teaching positions.

I did make a video today.

So enjoy if you would like.

Headaches

So I am not one who usually gets headaches but I seem to be turning into the person that does. I am not really sure as to why that is so but alas they come and I have one right now. It is not fun.

I also have found myself getting very tired at night and I have been waking up super early. My body has adjusted to my teacher schedule which makes me really sad since tomorrow I will not being going to the school.

Long Day

Now that I am done with student teaching, I wake up in my own at 6:30 in the morning.

Today was such a great day. We had our mentor teacher brunch. It was fun and I was able to give mine her gift. She really has been so great and I really am grateful to have had her as my final teacher.

Then it was time for my friend's bridal shower. It was so much fun spending time with all of my friends. They are great.

I found out today that my old elementary/junior high school is hiring elementary teachers. I would so love to work there so I am definitely applying. A couple of teachers are still there from when I went there so it shouldn't be too bad.
