Working Out

If you have been following me on like any other social media site, than you know that I have been working out a lot lately and even have dropped a few pounds. I have been trying my best but like anyone else would now, it is hard. It is hard to find time to go and work out. It has been so hard with student teaching and having a job on top of that. So that does not leave a lot of free time to go to the gym but I am trying my hardest to make it.

The point of this is the fact that I have a problem with keep up my pace of the elliptical. I get tired after a while and want to slow down. I have such a hard time to keep myself at the same speed I was already going. There are days that I like to go for an hour at the time so it can be hard to keep myself motivate for the whole time. I have tried listening to music but I often want to follow the beat of the music and that changes from song to song I am listening. The next thing for me is to watch TV but then I lose interest during commercials and slow down.

So today, I brought my iPad with me to the gym so that I could read. I have my kindle app on there and read. I did also listen to music in the background just to drown out everything else around me. I do have to say that it really did help me. I kept up with the pace I was going at for an hour. I don't know because I am currently rereading The Hunger Games and that had me pumped or just the fact that I was reading. I am going to have to try this out again to know for sure.
